1st ANNUAL MEMORIAL DAY AZ URBAN FAMILY FUNDRAISING PICNIC
Monday, May 26th at Kiwanis Park in Tempe, AZ
(Phoenix, AZ - May 9, 2008) – Looking for something to do with the entire family on Memorial Day? Get the kids, get the dogs and come to Kiwanis Park - 6711 S All-American Way (Mill Ave. & All-American Way) from 10am to 6pm. This event will be hosted by 101.5 Jamz Family, The one and only, Corina, with music by DJ Phlava. Admission is $10 in advance per person and includes a BBQ, raffle, concert, fashion show, basketball and volleyball tournament and dance party.
The Picnic is sponsored by Quality Hair Center in association with MUMS Productions and 1st Class Consultant (www.1stclassconsultant.com) and will benefit Self Made Men, Women & Children Inc. (smmwc.org), and the Mentor Me Program. The Mentor Me Program seeks to empower at-risk youth in our community to make positive life choices that enable them to maximize their personal potential.
Festivities will begin at 10am and schedule of events is as follows:
12:30pm Volley Ball Tournament
1:00pm All Day Concert Begins
2:00pm Basketball Tournament Begins
3:00pm Dance Competition
4:00pm Concert Headliners including Willie Northpole, Baby T, Justus, and MTV’s @ Apollo
5:00pm Fashion Showcase
The all-day concert will be a fusion of some of Arizona’s hottest talent. Baby T is a 9 year old rapping, writing and performing prodigy who will blow your mind with her positive vibe and flowing steps. Apollo, voted most “On the Rise” artist on MTV2 with 327,000 votes, will take the stage along with National Recording Artist Willy Northpole, one of AZ hottest hip-hop artists who is signed to Disturbing Tha Peace lable owned by Hip Hop Mega Star Ludracris. Also gracing the stage will be Justus from Cut Throat Logic, the 5-piece Latin, funk, rock band Gunzawless, and countless other Poets, Praise Teams, & Artists.
The Fundraising Picnic has opportunities for the Community to directly get involved & give back. Corporate sponsors and volunteers are needed for this project to be a success. Volunteers are needed the day of the event for coordinating and assisting the 2000+ people expected. Sponsors are needed for financial donations as well as in-kind donations, all of which are 100% tax deductible.
